“Meet in the Middle” First Saturday Breakfast at Red Apple Café in Muncie on November 2, 2019 at 9:30 AM

31 RSVP’s so far with 5 maybe’s!

This Saturday we are going over to Muncie for our First Saturday Breakfast to a fairly new place that opened two years ago, is locally owned (not a chain) and has a separate Private Banquet Room that we have reserved!  Bob and Brigitta Snider of Muncie have had breakfast there, were impressed with the quality and variety of food offered, cleanliness of the restaurant and efficient service.  Their rear banquet room will hold 32 max, which should accommodate all of us who want to make the drive and they have plenty of adjacent paved parking.  With Muncie halfway between Indy and Fort Wayne, this breakfast should attract members from both areas (another “Meet in the Middle” event!).

Conveniently located for out-of-town members, the Red Apple Café is just off Muncie’s main East/West entryway of McGalliard Rd. (Ind. 332 E., I-69 Exit 241) about 8 miles from I-69 and close to the Ball State University Campus.  For out-of-towner’s, take I-69 Exit 241, head east on Ind. 332 eight miles and turn right (South) at the light on Oakwood Ave. and the Red Apple Café is on your right (just after the Sunshine Café) at 3001 N. Oakwood Ave., Muncie, IN 47304.

Ball State University

After breakfast, take a driving tour of the beautiful new Ball State University campus by taking Oakwood Ave. south and then jog west via Bethel Ave. over to the North Campus Entrance on McKinley Ave. to see all the new buildings, Shafer Bell Tower and the beautifully landscaped new medians on McKinley, Riverside and University Avenues.  The Village on University Ave. has also had some recent updates with new apartments and restaurants.  There may even be a few colorful fall trees left in Christy Woods to see along W. Riverside Ave. or take a brief walk thru their natural woods or visit the Rinard Orchid Collection at the Campus Greenhouse there.  A lot has changed at BSU in the past few years!  If this is not enough, visit the Minnetrista Orchard Shop (great Christmas Gift Shop!) at Minnetrista Center north of downtown and buy some of their fresh apple cider (best cider in Indiana!) or apples, tour their Museum and grounds along with the beautiful Oakhurst Mansion & Gardens or their new Nature Area.  Maps will be provided to both locations.

Please RSVP here below, so we can tell the restaurant how many to set up our private room for.
