Art In Bloom Tour

Dr. Robert LaFrance, the director of the David Owsley Museum of Art, has offered to take a group of CIR Members on a tour of the museum during this special event. Dr. LaFrance is a new member of CIR so congratulations to him for setting up an event so soon after joining.

We will be meeting at the David Owsley Museum of Art, Ball State University, north door address is 2021 W Riverside, Muncie, Indiana, 47306. There is a museum drop-off driveway at this address, see free parking below. You should plan on arriving about 1pm. The tour will start at 1:15. Dr. LaFrance will be giving a thirty minute overview of the World Art Collection. You will then be released to walk through the exhibits. The museum is free to the public and refreshments will be made available.

For those of you that are interested in a late lunch there are a few restaurants within 5 to 10-minutes walking distance to the east in the nearby Village. These are the top two recommendations for groups:

museum visitors are directed to park on Campus/Ad Drive in the non-metered spaces.  The red outlined areas are free parking spaces from 7pm Friday through 7am Monday.  In this section of the drive, there are 95 available and free spaces for guests to park (11 which are disabled parking spaces).  According to google maps, these spaces are only 450 feet from the drive to the south entry doors of the museum.  The gray outlined spaces are the parking meters and can be avoided.
