Central Indiana Region of the Porsche Club of America (CIRPCA) is hosting our annual Pumpkin Run Driver Education event, sponsored by Tom Wood Porsche, at Putnam Park Road Course (www.putnampark.com) in Mt. Meridian, IN. on Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15. This event is open to all licensed drivers, 18 and older, driving any make vehicle. And it is not necessary to be a PCA member to participate. This is a great time of year for driving, with mild temperatures and beautiful fall colors.
Putnam Park is a favorite among racers and beginners alike, and now even better with the freshly repaved track surface. All the drivers at our Spring Brake event had great praise for the enhanced grip and reduced tire wear of the new pavement!!! The 1.8 mile, 10 turn circuit is a great 
layout for beginning drivers, yet challenging enough for experts to hone their skills.
Our two day event will provide extensive track time, as well as classroom instruction. Beginning drivers and those with limited experience will have an experienced instructor in the seat next to you, ensuring that you learn the proper line around the track and safe driving technique. All of our great instructors are dedicated to making your experience FUN & SAFE! At the conclusion of the weekend, you will go home a better driver and you will have a BIG GRIN on your face.
If you’d like more track time, during the lunch breaks you’ll have the opportunity to participate in touring laps, at normal highway speeds. The best part is that you can take family and friends with you for the touring laps, with no helmets required. And any car can participate, whether registered for the event or not. This is a great way to refine your driving line, locate landmarks on the track, and increase your comfort level.
I’m also pleased to announce that we will be providing our popular Saturday evening social in the garage. We will provide appetizers, sandwiches, and cold beer at the conclusion of the track day. And the social is included in your registration fee!
Onsite Tech Inspection and Registration runs from 4:0pm- 8:00pm on Friday, Oct 13, at the Cambria Suites Hotel (driving directions below). For those unable to make it on Friday, tech. inspections and registration will continue from 7:00-8:00am on Saturday morning at the track. Student drivers (everyone other than instructors) are also required to have a pre-event Tech Inspection Form completed by a qualified shop before presenting their cars for the onsite tech inspection and registration. Tech Inspection forms are available via the CIRPCA website or via clubregistration.net upon enrollment
Student Sign-Up: registration is via www.clubregistration.net. Search for “Putnam Park” events, and the dates of Oct 14-15. If you are new to clubregistration.net, you will first need to establish an account (no cost), and create a personal profile, which includes your relevant driving experiences. For early bird registration (thru August 15), the fee for the entire weekend is $350. After this date, the weekend fee goes to $425. The rate increase from last year is due to the increased track rental cost in 2017. So it pays to sign up early! Please note that 1 day registrations are available with restrictions. Instructor Sign-Up: must be a current CIRPCA approved instructor to register via clubregistration.net. Early bird registration fee is $100, with the fee increasing to $125 after August 15. Rental Helmets: a limited number are available at $65 for the weekend. Please order during registration on clubregistration.net.
Garage Rentals: a limited number of garages are available during registration via clubregistration.net. Cost is $150 for the weekend and each garage will hold 1 car. All garages are 1st come, 1st served.
Hotel: We’ve had great experience with the Cambria Suites. It’s located just north of I-70, a few miles west of Indianapolis. We’ve secured a substantially reduced room rate of $101 per night, and breakfast is included. When you call for reservations, simply request the CIR Porsche Club rate. Please note that the hotel has a 24 hr cancellation policy. Details are listed below:

Hotel Driving Directions: proceed westbound on I-70 for approx. 5 miles (west of the junction of I-70 and I-465 on Indy’s west side). At exit 66 (State Rte 267) proceed north. Take 1st left onto Hadley Rd. Then take next left onto Gateway Dr. Hotel is located on right side.
Directions to Putnam Park (From I-70 west of Indianapolis): From I-465 on the west side of Indy, take I-70 westbound for approx. 30 miles. Take exit #41 (Cloverdale/Greencastle/ Rte 231) and proceed northbound on #231 for approx. 4 miles. At traffic light, turn right (east) onto US40. Proceed eastbound on US40 for approx. 4 miles (watch carefully for small green sign indicating Mt. Meridian). Just past the Mt. Meridian sign, turn right (south) onto County Rd. 550 E. Proceed south on CR 550 E for approx. 1.4 miles. Track entrance is on left.
