With spring in the air, It seemed like a good time to go through yet another software conversion. This time I think was a lot less traumatic for our members. This was limited to an upgrade in the same software we were already using.

There’s a number of benefits to the new version. The most notable is that one member can now enroll more than just themselves for an event. Prior to this, if a family of four wanted to enroll for a single event, it involved four different IDs logging in and each one enrolling.

Also changed was the presentation of the event enrollmemt list. Prior to the upgrade the enrollee contrast between the text and background was very difficult to see. That contrast is a little better defined now.

The next upgrade is also related to events. This upgrade however, allows members to create an RSS feed to the calendaring application like Outlook or Google calendar. An RSS feed is a simple file that is automatically sent to a calendaring application that will update your calendar with CIR events. You’ll notice two orange icons on the upper right of the CIR calendar: and . The first one is for Google like calendaring applications and the second works with Outlook. By clicking on one of these you can "hook" them into your personal calendar and always be aware of upcoming CIR events. You only have to do this once and your calendar will automatically be updated as new events are entered.

There are more changes, like to both photo galleries and other DNN applications. We go into those later. If you have any suggestions or comments, just login and reply to this post.

Enjoy.

David
