|The President’s Message |
Happy May everyone!
As I write this message, we have just finished our Spring Brake DE at Putnam Park Road Course. We had a great time, even though the weather was not what you would call “optimum”. But you know everyone innately fears driving on the track in the wet until they have done it. You find out that it’s a blast, just at a lower speed than in the dry. (Except Tom B. of course).
We did something different at lunch touring on Saturday. We invited Wounded Warriors to come out and have rides on the track. I wish we would have had more Veterans take us up on the offer, but the ones that were there really had a blast. In fact we had a large number of people out to give rides that had never been on a track before, and they ALL said they had a blast!
I was very proud of our club members that put time into making a Veterans’ day.
This month we have the 2014 Cayman launch. Tom Wood is having the launch on Wednesday the 1st, and O’Daniel is having theirs the next day on Thursday the 2nd in Fort Wayne. These are sooooo cool!!!
In keeping with this theme, on Saturday the 4th we will be having a “Meet & Greet” at Tom Wood Porsche. The following Saturday, the 11th, we will have a “Meet & Greet” at O’Daniel Porsche. Special thank you to both of our dealerships in hosting these events. Please check the website for times.
Saturday the 18th we are having the rescheduled “Adopt-a-Highway” cleanup of our section of North Meridian St. (and of course lunch at Bellacinos pizza & grinders).
Then the last weekend is the Indy 500, and Memorial Day. Since we live 3 blocks west of the track, you know what we will be doing. The greatest spectacle in racing!!!
Have a great month everyone!
